Obituary: Lobdell, Harry Richard

LOBDELL, Harry Richard Passed away on December 19, 2014 in Sun City West, Arizona.

He was born in Yakima on September 28, 1927.

He was married to Dolores Jean Thomas in 1948 until her death in 1995.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Marion.

Harry is survived by Joan Brendmoen, his brother Raymond (Cathy) Lobdell, his sister Dorothy Jacobs, his children Linda (Danny) Mellon, Mark (Phyllys), Gary (Carrie), Chris (Keith Cromley) and Greg (Mary Jo) Lobdell; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He graduated from Rodgers High School.

He served in the Navy in WWII.

Harry worked at Columbia Lighting 35 years in Spokane and as Vice-president of Lithonia Lighting in Conyers, GA until his retirement.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, passing those traditions on to his children and grandchildren.

Harry and Joan retired to the sun and enjoyed dancing, lawn bowling and a busy social life while spending their summers at Diamond Lake.

He was a dedicated Eucharistic Minister at Prince of Peace Catholic Church and active in the Elks Lodge.

Memorial Mass will be held at 11am on Saturday, February 7th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spokane Valley where he raised his family.
