Obituary: Rand, Elma I.

(Age 87) Passed away February 10, 2015.

She was one of ten children born to Emanuel and Elizabeth Bender on March 6, 1927 in Laurel, Montana.

She was married to Cliffton Rand on March 2, 1946 in Billings, MT.

They lived in the Havre and Billings area before moving to Spokane.

In Spokane they lived mainly in the Colbert and Chattaroy area until they were divorced in 1973.

She attended a culinary school and moved for a short time to Billings.

Upon returning to Spokane she went to work for Saga Foods, working at Gonzaga then to Forest Grove and Tacoma, WA then back to Gonzaga until her retirement.

She is the mother of nine kids, two girls and seven boys and numerous grandchildren.

Elma is survived by sisters Martha Childers of Billings, MT and Alberta Kirsch of Dickinson, ND; daughter Marlene Walker of Riverside, CA; sons Gerry and Kim Rand of Mead, WA, Garon and Yang Rand of Spanaway, WA, Guy and Kathy Rand of Yelm, WA, Glen and Val Rand of Renton, WA, Grant and Judie Rand of Hillsboro, OR, Gordon Rand of Spokane, Geoff Rand of Lewiston, ID; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Charlene Homad and her two sons Chris and Donny; parents, sisters and brothers.

Visitation will be Monday 10-5PM at Heritage and Funeral Service 10:30AM Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Heritage Chapel.
