Pet clinic plans new facility

The Pet Emergency Clinic at 21 E. Mission Ave. plans to build a $4 million facility starting this spring. Baker Construction is the contractor for a 15,400-square-foot clinic on Pet Emergency’s land near its current 6,600-square-foot clinic, which later will be torn down for parking.

Separate pet-medical practices that lease space in the clinic will remain open during construction and also move into the new facility this fall, said Michael O’Dea, Pet Emergency Clinic manager and emergency veterinarian. Tenants include Veterinary Surgical Specialists PS, Inland Empire Veterinary Imaging, and Dermatology For Animals.

Founded in 1977, Pet Emergency Clinic provides emergency and critical care during evenings, weekends and holidays. It also operates a pet internal medicine service that’s open during weekdays.
