Obituary: Pearson, Catherine Lois

Age 89

PEARSON, Catherine Lois Passed away February 13, 2015 at Vancouver, WA.

She was born Catherine Lois Hunter on March 2, 1926 at St. Paul, MN to Ward M. and Gertrude (Boltz) Hunter.

She was raised in Minot, N.D. where she attended grade school and high school, graduating from Minot High School in 1944.

Catherine then attended St. Joseph School of Nursing in Minot, earning a degree in Nursing in 1946.

Catherine married Carl E. Pearson on May 5, 1948 at Kootenai, ID.

The couple made their home in the Spokane area where Carl worked in construction, and Catherine was a RN at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane.

Catherine later worked at the Radiology office of Dr’s Harris and Betts in the Paulson Bldg.

Her husband Carl died in 1991.

She continued to live in Spokane until moving to Vancouver, WA in 2009 to be near her son.

She had been a resident of Caretique in Vancouver for the past six years.

Catherine’s hobbies included gardening and spending time at their cabin on Lake Pend Oreille.

Survivors include her son, Jim (Penny) Pearson of Vancouver, WA; one grandson, Jeff (Haley) Pearson, D.M.D., of Vancouver, WA; three great-grandchildren, Cole, Stella and Beckett Pearson; siblings, Janice Cook, Jerry Hunter, LaVonne Jorgensen and Ray Hunter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl, and brothers Norman and Jack Hunter.

A Graveside service will be held Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Pines Cemetery Mausoleum in Spokane Valley, WA.
