Special Smithsonian Institution Guest Curatorial Lecture “The National Museum of the American Indian: A Remarkable History and Extraordinary Collection Entwined” presented by Cecile Ganteaume, curator, Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI), Washington, D.C. Ganteaume provides the keynote program launching the Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture’s (MAC) three days of special programs focusing on American Indian Basketry. Central to her presentation is a focus on the museum’s superb basketry collection, including five rare and singularly important baskets.
