Gonzaga men hold firm in basketball polls; Wiltjer honored again

Another week without movement at the top of the men’s college basketball polls, another weekly honor for junior forward Kyle Wiltjer.

Gonzaga (28-1) remained No. 3 in the Associated Press poll and No. 2 in USA Today. Kentucky holds down the top spot in both polls, followed by Virginia in AP. The Cavs are No. 3 in USA Today.

Kentucky collected every first-place vote in both polls.

Wiltjer was selected WCC Player of the Week for the second straight week.

He poured in 45 points against Pacific on Thursday, the second highest single-game performance in the nation this season. He had 16 points, eight in the final 1:50, and 12 rebounds in Saturday’s come-from-behind victory over Saint Mary’s.

Wiltjer’s 45-point game ranks third in GU history.
