SPOKANE – Meals on Wheels is getting ready for its annual Valentine’s Day fundraiser.

Order a $30 “Cinn-A-Gram” consisting of two Cinnabon rolls, a coffee mug, coffee, chocolates and other goodies to be delivered Feb. 12.

All proceeds go to Meals on Wheels.

One Cinn-A-Gram provides funding for five meals to be delivered to seniors who are homebound.

Free 2014 tax help available to some

SPOKANE – If you worked in 2014 and made less than $52,427, you may be eligible to get your taxes done for free.

Services are available at the Cheney Library, Northeast Community Center, Spokane United Way, Spokane Valley Library and other locations.

No farm or rental income tax returns will be accepted.

Valley city hosting visioning meetings

SPOKANE VALLEY – The city’s community and economic development department is hosting community visioning meetings at 6 p.m. Jan. 28 and at 7:30 a.m. Jan. 29 at CenterPlace, 2425 N. Discovery Place.

The meetings are intended to help guide future growth and are part of the update of Spokane Valley’s comprehensive plan.

City staff will present the city’s vision statement and give an overview of current planning efforts.

Suggestions and ideas will be compiled at the meeting and reported at another meeting in February.

SPOKANE – January is cervical cancer awareness month and the Spokane Regional Health District is offering free screenings for women between 40 and 64.
