Liberty Lake police blotter: Golf courses figure in reports

An errant golf cart and an errant golf ball caused problems at Liberty Lake’s golf courses recently.

On June 23 a woman in the area of Molter Road and Valleyway Avenue, which runs between MeadowWood Golf Course and the Liberty Lake Golf Course, reported having her windshield broken by a golf ball. The man who hit the ball gave the woman his information for later contact, said Liberty Lake Police Chief Brian Asmus.

A $9,000 golf cart was reported stolen from the Trailhead Golf Course in the 1100 block of North Liberty Lake Road the afternoon of June 27. The person who took it apparently didn’t go far; the golf cart was later found abandoned on North Idaho Road by the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

Other calls from June 22-29

June 25: Officers took possession of two scooters found in Pavillion Park around 11 p.m. when the buildings were being locked up for the night. A caller reported two women taking five bottles of alcohol from a business in the 1300 block of North Liberty Lake Road without paying. Their license plate information was taken down and police determined the registered owner of the car was one of the women involved. She is now facing a theft charge.

June 27: A bicycle was reported abandoned near a dumpster in the 22000 block of East Appleway Avenue. It was taken to the police station.

June 28: A resident in the 20000 block of East Deschutes Avenue reported seeing flashlights in a neighbor’s home just after 10:30 p.m. An officer checked the home, where the owner reported the power was out and he was trying to get to bed.

Arrests: Officers made six arrests for driving with a suspended license, one for driving under the influence and one for reckless driving.
