Spokane Shock get another shot at undefeated San Jose

Three weeks ago, the San Jose Sabercats handed the Spokane Shock their worst loss in franchise history.

The Shock have a chance for redemption tonight when they meet the Sabercats at SAP Center in San Jose, California. Kickoff is set for 7:30.

San Jose (10-0 overall, 3-0 in the Pacific Division) romped to an 83-28 victory over Spokane (3-6, 0-2) at the Arena on May 16.

Sabercats quarterback Erik Meyer, formerly with the Shock, missed the game because of an injury, but Nathan Stanley threw eight touchdown passes.

Meyer has since returned to lead San Jose to victories over Cleveland and Portland. Meyer completed 61 of 82 passes for 670 yards and 16 touchdowns in those two games.

Shock rookie quarterback Warren Smith has completed 102 of 150 passes for 1,180 yards and 23 TDs since taking over in Week 7. He has thrown six interceptions.

The Shock are coming off a 59-47 loss to the Arizona Rattlers, the first-place team in the West Division.

Spokane will host the Las Vegas Outlaws next Friday. Spokane defeated the Outlaws 63-56 on May 23 in Las Vegas.
