Obituary: Lockie, Floyd Elwood Jr. “Bill”

Age 91

LOCKIE, Floyd Elwood Jr. “Bill” (Age 91) Beloved husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015 surrounded by loved ones.

He was born January 2, 1924 to Alma T. Lockie and Floyd Elwood Lockie Sr. in Northport, WA.

His family moved to Lewiston, ID when he was three.

He graduated from Lewiston High School and then served our country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII.

He then joined the Spokane Police Department and retired in 1975 after 25 years.

After retiring from the police department he was employed by the Mead School District and from 1979 to 1989, he was employed as a security officer for Spokane Falls Community College.

He married his true love, Dorothy Ann, on May 7, 1949.

Bill and Dorothy made their home in Spokane, WA and lived in the same home for 64 years.

Together they enjoyed square dancing with the Hicks & Chicks, Tea Dancing at the Davenport Hotel, golfing at Downriver, family get-togethers, and traveling.

Bill is survived by his wife; four children, Floyd E. Lockie III of Portland, OR, Tamra of Spokane, Jana Parent (Frank) of Lewiston, ID, and Rhonda (Mike) Huffman of Colbert, WA; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and his faithful four-legged companion, Putter.

Bill is preceded in death by his father, mother, sister and brother-in-law, Jim and Jeanne Silver, and nephew Gareth Silver.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 1:00pm at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9706 N. Division.
