Obituary: Hurst, Virginia Louise
She was born in Hardin, MT in a small house on the family farm on January 11, 1935.
Her parents, Tom and Myrtle Faw moved the family to a ranch in Charlo, MT in the summer of 1947.
They preceded her in death along with an older sister, Evelyn Roosevelt.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years Robert Hurst who is originally from Chewelah; a brother Tom Faw (Lois) from Gilbert, AZ; a sister Carol Kobel (Werner) from Puyallup, WA; children Teresa Anderson (Cliff) from Sula, MT, Kent Hurst (Cindy) from Clam Gulch, AK, Mike Hurst (Jill) from Newman Lake, WA, Randy Hurst of Spokane, WA and Ken Hurst (Barb) from Astoria, OR.
She loved her 9 grandchildren very much with all her heart.
They were the light of her life and she loved talking about them and showing everyone their pictures.
They are Brent Anderson (Jenn), Darren Anderson (Daniela), Jennifer Cobia, Isaak Hurst (Collyn), Maryna Hurst, Kelsey Duer (Carl), Kyle Hurst (Jenn), Tarin Hurst (Nick), and Hailey Hurst.
Virginia was also proud to have 11 great-grandchildren who thought she was pretty special.
They all loved to come see her.
They are Autumn Cobia, Lillian Cobia, Jac Cobia, Boone Cobia, Sage Anderson, Jayden Anderson, Ezra Anderson, Hakan Anderson, Eli Anderson, Keaton Hurst, and Teagan Hurst.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who thought the world of her.
Virginia will also be missed by the many friends and neighbors she had when she lived on 39th for 57 years.
She loved living at Sullivan Park in Spokane Valley for the last year.
She so enjoyed all the staff and residents there who became her new friends.
She owned and operated Hurst Pilot Car Service for 45 years with the CB handle of “Cottontop” and formed many lasting friendships with the other car pilots and truck drivers.
Many years ago Virginia and Bob logged 1,000’s of miles on their motorcycle traveling across the United States and Canada camping along the way.
They had many unique experiences along the way.
Later they graduated to a motor home and had great fun traveling with her brother and sisters.
Even though she will be greatly missed by her family and friends here on earth, she is enjoying a great family reunion in heaven above.
Funeral services will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1620 E. 29th on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with public viewing at 9:00a.m.
Burial will be at Chewelah Pioneer Cemetery in the Hurst Family Plot in Chewelah, WA at 3:00p.m.
