That’s News to you answers

Here are the answers to this week’s quiz:

1. A. The EPA said it has discovered the toxic pesticide carbon tetrachloride in the soil at the Cenex Harvest States grain handling facility off state Highway 27 south of Spokane. The Freeman School District campus sits across the highway, along with a gas station and small store. Aside from that, the closest town is Rockford, a few miles down the highway.

2. D. The Chiefs’ only other No. 1 overall pick came in 2006, when they selected Jared Cowen. The defenseman became team captain and a vital member of the 2008 Memorial Cup championship team.

4. A. Morris earned nearly $5.5 million in total compensation last year. In addition to Morris’ salary and performance bonuses, his compensation package included the value of future stock awards and a net gain in the value of his pension. 5. D. Zayn Malik said Wednesday he is leaving chart-topping British boy band One Direction “to be a normal 22-year-old.”
