Police have closed the intersection of East Euclid Avenue and North Crestline Street while they investigate a fatal collision involving a motorcyclist and an STA bus. The bus was traveling east on Euclid and the motorcyclist was traveling west, said Spokane Police Sgt. Mike Carr. The bus began turning left and hit the motorcycle, Carr said. Police were called at 1:37 p.m. The motorcycle rider was wearing a half-helmet head protection. Police said the dead person is a white male, but his identity hasn’t been released yet. The motorcycle ended up under the bus, and the bus’s front windshield is cracked. Witnesses said passengers on the bus, No. 2715, tried to help the motorcycle driver. Police are reviewing video taken from the bus as well as from a business on the southwest corner of the intersection, Carr said. According to KHQ, the bus driver was taken from the scene in an ambulance as a precautionary measure. The intersection is expected to be closed for several hours while the investigation continues. Drivers are urged to avoid the area. Susan Meyer, chief executive officer of STA, said Friday afternoon the investigation into the collision is active and ongoing. She said she could not comment.
