Woman killed in crash near the Valley Mall
A woman died in a crash near Indiana Avenue and Evergreen Road in Spokane Valley Friday afternoon.
Most of Indiana was closed to traffic for several hours Friday evening but are now open.
The initial investigation shows that the woman was driving east on Indiana when she drifted over the center line and hit a westbound SUV head on, said Spokane County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Deputy Mark Gregory.
The crash happened just west of Evergreen. It is not yet known why the woman’s car crossed the center line, Gregory said. She died at the scene.
The woman’s identity will be released by the Spokane County Medical Examiner after an autopsy.
