Whitworth women’s cross country team gets at-large bid

The Whitworth University women’s cross country team has been selected for an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday in Winneconne, Wisconsin.

Also, Chris MacMurray has been selected as an individual participant in the men’s meet.

The women’s team will be returning to the championships for the fourth time and the first time since since 2010. They were one of 16 teams to receive an at-large bid in the 32-team field.

The Bucs finished third at this weekend’s West Regional in Claremont, California.

MacMurray earned his spot at the national meet with an 11th-place finish at the regional meet. The top seven individuals not on a national-qualifying team earn their own spot in the national meet.

The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh will host the championships at Lake Breeze Golf Club in Winneconne.
