Obituary: Bulat, Alexander Ralph “Alex”

Age 73

BULAT, Alexander Ralph “Alex” (Age 73) Of Cheney, WA passed away on the afternoon of November 16, 2015 at Hospice House of Spokane, after a long battle with cancer.

Alex was born on June 6, 1942 to Sam and Ann (Medved) Bulat in Aliquippa, PA.

He married Linda (Lin) Redding on November 10, 1961 in Dillon, South Carolina.

Alex joined the US Air Force with the dream of becoming a pilot.

He served in the 95th Civil Engineering Squadron.

After his service in the armed forces, Alex pursued an Associate of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Metropolitan State College in Denver, CO.

He became a Systems Engineer for IBM, retiring after 28 years of service.

After IBM, Alex started “Windstar Group”, a computer consulting business in Spokane, WA.

He spent the last eight years working as an UNIX Specialist for Kittcom.

Alex was preceded in death by his parents and brother Edward.

He is survived by his wife Lin; his sister Diane Thorpe (and husband Chris); his son Glenn (and wife Sabine); daughter Laurie (and husband Edd); daughter-in-law Ann Ioannides; grandsons Aleco Bulat, Alex Fischer, and Matthew Brown; granddaughters Lesley Cryderman and Katie Miles, and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on November 20, 2015 at the Cheney Funeral Chapel.

Alex was laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery in Cheney, WA.
