Obituary: Kelley, Margaret (Ringrose)

KELLEY, Margaret (Ringrose) Margaret was born on a beautiful Christmas Day, December 25, 1946.

She was the perfect first born of Dr. Neil and Mrs. Barbara Ringrose.

Margaret grew up most of her life in Colville, WA.

She graduated from high school at St. George’s School in Spokane, WA.

She pursued higher education through Whitman University in Walla Walla, WA, graduating in Physical Education from WSU in Pullman, WA.

Later, she received an MA in Education from Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA.

Margaret was a teacher, a mentor, a sportswoman, a gardener, a seamstress, a craftsman, a chef, an athlete and so many other wonderful things.

Most of all she was a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her.

Margaret was also an avid skier and was known as “Maggie” to her husband and all of their ski friends at 49 Degrees North.

Margaret started quilting later in life and she thrived on this hobby.

She loved sewing and made a lot of clothes and gifts for her kids and neighbors as well prior to learning to quilt.

She joined the Spokane Chapter of Washington State Quilters where she helped with the Annual Quilt Show, made countless quilts for charitable causes, concentrating most recently on quilts donated to military veterans through the Quilts of Valor Foundation.

She thought the world of the family dog and cats as her children were growing up and always offered a treat for neighborhood animals.

She loved the outdoors and spent many hours combing the beach on the coast or taking long walks up at 49 Degrees North as well.

She loved the Lord and was a faithful servant giving home made quilts in abundance to those in need.

She loved her family and she loved animals of all kinds.

Keeping up with the Jones was not on her list of things to do.

She was thrifty and was an example to all of us about taking care of what you have.

Margaret’s journey to the Father was preceded by her parents Neil and Barbara Ringrose and by her beloved aunt Eleanor Kidder.

She is survived by her husband and best friend Mike; son, Andy (Lorilee) Scamahorn; daughter, Ann (Lanny) Adams; grandchildren, Beka and Emily Adams, AJ and Alex Scamahorn; sister Janet (John) Mosby of Spokane; brothers Mac and Bill Ringrose of Colville and many close friends.

Margaret has been called away from us all too soon and she will be missed.

Whatever the need “Maggie” would be there with a clever hand-made gift and good wishes for all.

Rest in peace, Margaret.

God has His arms around you.

A memorial service will be held for Margaret at the Southside Christian Church located in the Lincoln Heights Shopping Center (2934 E. 27th Ave.) on Saturday, December 5th, at 11:00 am.
