Prep football: Lind-Ritzville/Sprague tops Northwest Christian

 Jacob Saetre’s 23-yard field goal with 1 minute, 32 seconds left lifted Lind-Ritzville/Sprague past Northwest Christian 32-29 in a Northeast 2B League game Friday night in Ritzville.

The win gave the Broncos (5-0, 4-0) sole possession of first place.

The game was a back-and-forth affair. It was tied at 22 at the half and both teams traded touchdowns in the third quarter. The only score in the fourth was Saetre’s winning kick.

Saetre ran for 164 yards on 23 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead LRS. Damien Rouleau added two scores – a 12-yard run in the first quarter and a 66-yard reception from Peyton Kiel in the third.

The Broncos racked up 345 total yards and outrushed the Crusaders 198-32.

Northwest Christian (3-2, 3-1) quarterback David Olds completed 17 of 27 passes for 222 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions.

Colfax 43, Springdale 6: Keith Gfeller threw for 187 yards and four touchdowns, and the Bulldogs (3-2, 3-1) pulled away in the second quarter and beat the host Chargers (0-5, 0-5). Tobie Warwick caught two of Gfeller’s touchdowns. Colfax’s Ben Ahmann added three scores – two rushing and one receiving.

Reardan 41, Wilbur-Creston 22: Josh Meserve ran for 90 yards and two touchdowns and Caleb Cole also scored twice – once rushing and once receiving – and the Indians (2-2, 2-2) beat the visiting Wildcats (1-4, 1-4). Wilbur-Creston quarterback Dorian Jaeger completed 19 of 31 passes for 256 yards and two scores.

Liberty 14, Davenport 13: Garrett Rogers’ 1-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter gave the Lancers (4-1, 4-1) a win over the host Gorillas (3-2, 3-2). Rogers also threw a 26-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter. Loran Boggs racked up 166 rushing yards and scored both of Davenport’s touchdowns.

Great Northern

West Valley 23, Pullman 20: Johnny Sage threw for a touchdown and ran for a score and the Eagles (3-2, 1-0) edged the visiting Greyhounds (4-1, 0-1). Jake Cillay rushed for two short touchdowns for Pullman.

Cheney 35, East Valley 7: Chris Fuentes scored three touchdowns – two rushing and one receiving – and the Blackhawks (5-0, 1-0) beat the visiting Knights (2-3, 0-1). Ty Graham added 106 rushing yards and a touchdown. He also had eight tackles.

Northeast A

Deer Park 33, Newport 7: Austin Weisenger caught two touchdown passes from Tyson Jorgensen and the Stags eased past the visiting Grizzlies. Weisenger finished with four catches for 75 yards. Jorgensen completed 7 of 11 for 80 yards. Dean Lockwood (14 carries, 92 yards) and Tyson Lim (10 carries, 94 yards) also scored rushing touchdowns for Deer Park.

Colville 28, Chewelah 0: William Burton ran for 139 yards on 23 carries and scored three touchdowns to guide the Indians (4-1, 3-0) past the host Cougars (1-4, 0-3).

Lakeside 49, Medical Lake 12: Cameron Gay continued his stellar season with four touchdown passes and the Eagles beat the host Cardinals. Nick Reed and Cory Wagner scored rushing touchdowns for Medical Lake.

Northeast 1B North

Selkirk 56, Northport 0: Joey Dickinson and Stephen Adey ran for two scores apiece and the Rangers (5-0, 1-0) beat the host Mustangs (0-5, 0-1). Selkirk scored 24 points in each of the first two quarters.

Republic 84, Inchelium 16: Laim Bracken ran for 131 yards and scored three of the Tigers’ eight rushing touchdowns as Republic (4-1, 2-0) topped the visiting Hornets (1-3, 1-1).

Northeast 1B South

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 54, Entiat 18: Dallas Isaak threw for three touchdowns, all to Charles Hunt, and ran for two more scores as the Warriors (4-1) beat the host Tigers. Isaak was 8-of-11 passing for 138 yards and rushed for 222 yards on 21 carries. Hunt made six catches for 96 yards and also ran for a score.

Southeast 1B

Colton 68, St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse 12: Carter Dahmen completed 12 of 20 passes for 376 yards and six touchdowns and the Wildcats (4-1, 2-0) beat the visiting Eagles (0-5, 0-2). Grant Kinzer hauled in three of Dahmen’s touchdowns.

Garfield-Palouse 72, Dayton 28: Wyatt Griner ran for 90 yards and four touchdowns and Evan Weagraff threw for 186 yards and two scores as the Vikings (2-2, 1-1) beat the Bulldogs in Palouse.

White Star

Kootenai 60, Lewis County 14: Ryan Atideman ran for two scores and threw for another to guide the Warriors past host Lewis County.

Nonleague

Sandpoint 48, Lake City 19: Levi Irish ran for 298 yards on 29 carries and scored four touchdowns to power the Bulldogs (3-3) past the Timberwolves (1-5) in Sandpoint. Three of Irish’s touchdowns came in the second quarter. Sandpoint quarterback Davan Norris added two touchdown passes. He completed 13 of 16 passes for 220 yards. For Lake City, Matt Duchow threw for a score and ran for a third-quarter touchdown.

Cusick 53, Columbia 8: Tyson Shanholtzer ran for 221 yards and four touchdowns and the Panthers topped the visiting Lions. Cusick’s Joe Cutshall added 123 receiving yards and a score and also ran for a 60-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

Wallace 48, Potlatch 24: Mitch Millard ran for 268 yards and three touchdowns and Brady McThail added 118 yards and two scores as the Miners (4-1) beat the visiting Loggers.

Tekoa-Rosalia 66, Yakama Tribal 16: Cody Thornton ran for 205 yards and four touchdowns and the Spartans (1-3) beat the Eagles at Rosalia. Tekoa-Rosalia built a 50-8 halftime lead.

Clarkston 42, Chelan 7: A.J. Davis threw for five touchdowns, four to Trevon Allen, and the Bantams (4-1) beat the visiting Goats.
