Obituary: Edgett, Edith Genevieve

EDGETT, Edith Genevieve Jan. 12, 1926 - Oct. 20, 2015 Passed from this earth and to heaven October 20, 2015 at 7pm just shy of 90 years old.

She was born in Paris, France on January 12, 1926.

After graduating from high school in Paris she came to The United States as a student exchange to the College of Pacific in Modesto, California.

While attending school she became a US citizen, overcoming her language barrier, she rose to the top of her class and earned a degree in Fashion Design and Marketing.

As an adult she managed her first husband’s medical practice in San Pedro, California.

While married to her first husband, Edith gave back to the world that had been so gracious to her.

She formed the Better Half Club, president for 21 years, 350 members.

She was President of Meals on Wheels for 12 years, feeding 180 people per day.

And then, without warning, God bestowed upon her a second chance at love as she united with Frederick E. Edgett, a longtime acquaintance.

And her heart was full again.

Few of us are fortunate to find true love once.

But the Lord repays the good deeds of the strong.

She is still loved and survived by her husband Fred, his children Kevin, Karey and Sean and extended family here in the USA.

And also loved and survived by brother, Pierre Arby, and a very large French family.Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM Monday, November 2nd, 2015 and will be celebrated at The Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes, 1115 West Riverside Ave., Spokane, Washington 99201.
