Men arrested after abduction attempts in Idaho

Associated Press

BURLEY, Idaho – Two men have been arrested after girls reported an attempted abduction in Idaho.

The Times-News reported that Cassia County School District spokeswoman Debbie Critchfield says the girls told school staff that they had been approached by a strange man who tried to lure them with candy Monday morning.

Cassia County Sheriff’s Detective Kevin Horak says the men, ages 40 and 50, approached one girl in a nearby neighborhood as she was walking to school and two other girls near the buses on school grounds. He says the girl walking to school was grabbed by the arm but kicked and got away from the man.

Horak says the men were arrested Monday and will likely be charged with felony attempted kidnapping and misdemeanor enticing a child.
