Norman Orvel LeLaCheur was born October 27, 1929 in Cherry County Nebraska to Clarence, and Catherine LeLaCheur.

He graduated from High School in Howard S. Dakota.

Although he had an interest and gift in contracting, and had considered an education to this end, Norman was encouraged by his father, who was a pastor, to go to Bible College for a year to give him a good Biblical foundation for whatever vocation he would choose.

He did so and attended Bible Standard College in Eugene Oregon where he eventually felt the call to ministry.

He attended BSC for two years, but graduated from North Central College in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Soon he married his college sweetheart, Norma Johnson, and they became an amazing pastoral team.

Norm pastored in Rapid City, South Dakota, Burlington, Iowa, and at the First Church of the Open Bible in Spokane WA for 29 years.

After Norma passed away in 2004, Norm married Darlene Brink who had also lost her husband, Harold.

Throughout Norman’s life, he was a consistent man of character and integrity.

As a husband, father, pastor and friend, he walked out his deep commitment to Jesus Christ.

The legacy of his life is clearly seen in all the people whose lives were touched by this wonderful man of faith.

Norman is survived by two siblings, Polly Wood in Rapid City S. Dakota and C. Daniel LeLaCheur in Eugene Oregon; Four children Dan, Monte, Ruth Anne and Scott and their spouses, Brenda, Amy Jo, Joe VanDenBerg and Connie respectively; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; three stepchildren, Carmen Gifford, Kim Wallace and Wade Brink their spouses, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 9th at 7 PM at Turning Point Open Bible Church, 11911 N. Division St., Spokane, WA
