Temperatures in the region will reach April-like highs

Temperatures in the Inland Northwest will reach April-like highs early this week, according to the National Weather Service in Spokane.

After gusty winds overnight Sunday into Monday, the high temperature in Spokane is expected to reach 54 degrees Monday and Tuesday, and only slightly lower, at 52 degrees, on Wednesday.

The average high temperature in Spokane typically doesn’t reach 54 degrees until April, the weather service said Sunday.

The combination of warmer weather and windy conditions could lead to melting snow in low to mid-elevations, with possible rising streams as a result, the weather service said.
