WSU takes on USC on Thursday in first round of Pac-12 women’s basketball tournament
Ninth-seeded Washington State (14-15, 5-13) will take on No. 8 seed USC on Thursday at 6 p.m. in the first round of the Pac-12 women’s basketball tournament at KeyArena in Seattle.
Washington State (14-15, 5-13) and USC (18-11, 6-11) split their regular-season series, with both teams winning at home. The Cougars beat the Trojans 73-61 in Pullman on Jan. 15, but lost 64-62 in Los Angeles on Feb. 14.
The two programs have met three times in the conference tournament. The Trojans own a 2-1 advantage, but WSU won the most recent meeting between the teams when the 11th-seeded Cougars upset the No. 3-seeded Trojans, 69-55, in the second round of the 2012 tournament.
The winner of the game between WSU and USC will face No. 1 Oregon State on Friday.
Arizona State earned the No. 2 seed, UCLA the No. 3 seed, and Stanford the No. 4 seed.
