WSU’s Borislava Hristova wins another Pac-12 award

For the second straight week and the third time this season, Washington State forward Borislava Hristova is Pac-12 Freshman of the Week.

Hristova led the Cougars with 13 points in a 69-63 loss at Washington on Saturday; it was her 17th double-digit performance of the season.

The Bulgarian native is the second player in WSU history to earn back-to-back honors. Lia Galdeira was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week on Dec. 17 and 24, 2012.

Hristova is shooting .900 (36-of-40) from the free throw line this season and is shooting .463 (133-287) from the floor. Last week, the freshman phenom broke a 26-year-old WSU freshman record for most 20-point performances in a season with her seventh of the year.

Hristova is on pace to break WSU’s freshman record in total points, points per game, free throw percentage, and field goals made.

WSU is at Cal on Friday.
