1. Hoopfest 2016 Saturday and Sunday, downtown Spokane. The biggest 3-on-3 basketball tournament on Earth brings more than 7,000 teams, 3,000 volunteers, 225,000 fans and 450 courts spanning 42 city blocks. Beyond basketball, it is an outdoor festival with shopping, food and interactive entertainment. (509) 624-2414. Admission: FREE

2. Free Swim Friday 1-4 p.m. Friday, Shadle Aquatic Center, 2005 W. Wellesley Ave. Each Friday, the Spokane Parks Foundation sponsors a free swim day at one of the pools in Spokane County. This week, it’s Shadle’s turn. Next up, on July 1, it’s Liberty. (509) 326-5233. Admission: FREE

3. KPBX Kids Concert: “The Piano Bench” Noon Friday, Lair Auditorium, Spokane Community College, 1810 N. Greene St. Spokane Public Radio’s “The Piano Bench” host Jim Tevenan and friends demonstrate the history of this grand instrument. Guests include Jody Graves. (509) 328-5729. Admission: FREE

4. June Bug Ball 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Sandpoint Community Hall, 204 S. First Ave. Sandpoint Chapter of USA Dance will host this ’70s Disco-themed dance, complete with a DJ and disco ball. 5. 20th Anniversary Play Day at the Farm 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, North Spokane Farm Museum, 6223 W. Ridgeway Road, Deer Park. Many tractors on display including an 1890 steam tractor, draft horses giving plowing demonstrations and providing wagon rides. There will be various demonstrations in the museum and some activities for kids. Folks can tour the museum for a suggested donations of $5 to see antique farm equipment, extensive china and kitchen collections, antique dolls, wood carvings by Bruce Kratzer and more. 6. Star Trek Movie Night 3 p.m. Saturday, Spokane Valley Library, 12004 E. Main Ave. An evening of fun and classic “Star Trek” movies including “The Wrath of Khan,” “The Search for Spock” and “The Voyage Home.” This is a fundraiser event to promote Starkane, a 50th anniversary Star Trek convention coming to Post Falls in September. 7. BOG, Hex Partners + Crows Head 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Saranac Public House, 25 W. Main Ave. Rooftop concert, plus an opening poetry performance by Fitz Fitzpatrick. All-ages show. Please bring donations for the touring band. Presented by 92.3FM KYRS. (509) 747-3012. Admission: $1-$5.

8. Northwest of Nashville 8 p.m. Tuesday, the Bartlett, 228 W. Sprague Ave., Spokane. The monthly Americana variety show, hosted by Jenny Anne Mannan, will feature the Powers, Lucas Brown, and the Brad Keeler Trio. (509) 747-2174. Admission: $7 standing room, $10 seated

9. “Freedom Riders” 6 p.m. Thursday Coeur d’Alene Library, 702 E. Front Ave. Watch the PBS “American Experience” documentary. Following the film, Stephen Shaw, political science professor at Northwest Nazarene University and dean of the school of arts, humanities and social sciences, will discuss the history of human rights in Idaho and lead the discussion about the film.
