Seattle Mariners DH Nelson Cruz currently has an 11-game hitting streak against the Oakland Athletics dating back to Aug. 13, 2016.

He didn’t give himself much leeway to continue the streak in Saturday’s 4-3 loss to the A’s. He walked twice and picked up a hit in his only official at-bat of the game to extend his personal streak against Oakland.

During this stretch he is batting .390 (16 for 41) with six runs, four doubles, three home runs, eight RBI, five walks and two stolen bases

Cruz has also reached base safely in 20 consecutive games against the A’s, including at least one hit in 18 games. During this stretch, dating back to April 9, 2016, he is batting .419 (31 for 74) with 11 runs scored, five doubles, 13 RBI, seven walks and two stolen bases.

Cruz’s 53 road home runs since 2015 lead all Major League players.

Nelson Cruz is batting .340 (66 for 194) with 11 home runs, 39 RBI, and 23 walks in 52 day games, dating back to the start of the 2016 season. His .340 average during this stretch is the highest in the American League. He also ranks among the A.L. leaders in OPS (third, .974), slugging percentage (fourth, .562) and on-base percentage (fifth, .413) during day games since last season.
