Architecture

Adam Miller, Evan Darley and Meghan Teichmann have been hired by Architects West. Miller, a BIM/CAD technician, is working on the Christian Aid Women’s and Children’s Center in Walla Walla. Darley, also a BIM/CAD technician, has six years of experience and is working on additions for Lake City High School in Coeur d’Alene. Teichmann has been hired as an intern architect and is working toward her state of Idaho architectural registration exams and working on two projects for the city of Quincy, Washington.

Education

The University of Washington Department of Medicine has honored two local physicians, Jeremy Graham and Judy Swanson, with the WWAMI Excellence in Teaching Faculty awards, given to University of Washington clinical faculty members demonstrating enthusiasm and dedication in providing education and service to medical students. Graham is an internist, and Swanson is the new assistant clinical dean for the UW School of Medicine in Spokane and has been teaching UW students in Spokane since 2000. WWAMI is a partnership between the medical school and the states of Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho. Nine physicians were recognized across the region.

Insurance

Alliant Americas has announced that Shelly Donovan has been hired as a surety account manager. Donovan most recently worked with the North Idaho Building Contractors Association as an executive officer. Alliant also has announced the hiring of Ryan Lipsker as personal lines producer. Lipsker comes to Alliant from city of Spokane Parks and Recreation.

Marketing

Marketing Associates of Spokane has announced board member changes:Leslie Hebert, Coffman Engineers, president; Andrea Frye, Vandervert Construction, vice president; and Kasey Kuhn, special events chair, Uptic Studios, special events chair.

Medicine

Sue Thilo and Darin Hayes have joined the Kootenai Health Foundation board. Thilo has been involved with the foundation since 1989 as the founding director of the Festival of Trees. Hayes works as a financial adviser, portfolio manager and co-branch manager at D.A. Davidson and has served as a member of the foundation’s finance committee.

Miscellaneous

True Life Canvas, a permanent cosmetics studio in Coeur d’Alene, has hired three employees. Angela Sattler, R.N., who has worked as a nurse educator in British Columbia and at Kootenai Medical Center, specializes in facial aesthetics and injectables. Heidi Klein-Davis has seven years of beauty industry experience and is completing her apprenticeship at True Life Canvas. Caitlin Redmond has worked in design and development in the fashion industry and is licensed in permanent cosmetics.

Honors

Washington State University College of Pharmacy has selected Nick Bruck as the Outstanding Alumnus of the Year, recognizing significant contributions to WSU and the profession of pharmacy. Bruck organized clinical teams to provide MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccinations at schools and community centers during Spokane’s recent mumps outbreak. Bruck is district pharmacy manager for Walgreens.
