Kyle Odom finishes mental health treatment

Kyle Odom, who is accused of shooting a Coeur d’Alene pastor, has ended his court ordered mental health treatment.

Odom, who has a history of mental illness, is allegedly shot the Rev. Tim Remington multiple times outside the Altar Church as Sunday services ended on March 6, 2016. Remington has recovered from his injuries and is back at work.

A mental evaluation was sought in August and a judge signed an order for involuntary commitment in December. The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare filed sealed reports in December, January and March. A judge ordered that the involuntary commitment be terminated on Tuesday.

The Kootenai County Jail lists Odom as a current inmate. No court hearings are currently scheduled in the case.
