Woman killed in U.S. Highway 395 crash near Deer Park

A woman who was driving three children was killed Tuesday afternoon in a crash a mile north of Deer Park on U.S. Highway 395.

Loon Lake resident Elizabeth A. Knudsen, 43, was driving a Kia Spectra south on U.S. 395 about 3:30 p.m. when an eastbound Dodge Ram pickup pulled in front of her from Dahl Road, the Washington State Patrol reported in a news release. WSP did not provide the name or age of the juvenile driving the pickup but said alcohol and drugs were not factors in the crash. The pickup’s driver was not injured.

Two girls, ages 7 and 10, who were riding with Knudsen, were injured and transported to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center.

All the drivers and passengers were earing seat belts, WSP said.

The crash remains under investigation.
