Recaps for the Seattle Mariners top affiliates for Wednesday night provided by team releases.

Tacoma (AAA) 5, Las Vegas 2 (11)

LAS VEGAS, Nev.The Tacoma Rainiers (16-9) climbed to a season-best seven-games over .500 with a 5-2 extra-innings victory over the Las Vegas 51s (13-14) on Wednesday afternoon at Cashman Field.

D.J. Peterson, Dario Pizzano, and Tyler O’Neill – filling the 4-5-6 spots in the Rainiers lineup – combined to go 6 for 14 with four runs, two doubles, one home run, and three RBI. Recently-acquired third baseman Seth Mejias-Brean also contributed multiple hits, going 2 for 5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Rainiers starting pitcher Ryan Weber allowed just two runs on seven hits over six innings of work. He walked three and struck out three more along the way while not factoring into the decision.

Down to their final out, Peterson hammered a solo home run (4) to left to tie it at 2.

Tacoma’s offense erupted for three runs on four hits and a walk in the top of the 11th inning Peterson singled and scored on Pizzano’s double to right. O’Neill followed an RBI single into left to score Pizzano, and was subsequently driven in on a double to deep center field by Mejias-Brean.

Ryne Harper worked two scoreless innings to earn his first win of the year. Evan Marshall escaped a jam in the bottom of the 11th and logged his first save.

Tacoma and Las Vegas continue their series at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday at Cashman Field. Rainiers right-hander Sam Gaviglio (1-3, 3.96) and 51s righty Rafael Montero (0-0, 1.74) are slated to start.

Tulsa at Arkansas (AA)

The second of a four-game series between the Tulsa Drillers and the Arkansas Travelers was postponed due to inclement weather and was rescheduled as part of a doubleheader on Friday.

Modesto (High-A) 4, San Jose 3

SAN JOSE, Calif. Pablo Lopez worked an efficient six innings to lead the Modesto Nuts to a 4-3 win over the San Jose Giants on Wednesday afternoon at Municipal Stadium.

With a win in the three-game series finale, the Nuts earned a series victory against the Giants.

Lopez (W, 2-2) worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the first inning and was sharp from there. Lopez surrendered an unearned run on a sac fly in the third before retiring the next seven in a row. The only earned run the Nuts’ (16-11) starter allowed was on Ryan Howard‘s solo home run.

The Nuts’ offense finally broke through against the Giants (12-15) in the fifth on Braden Bishop’s RBI single.

Lukas Shiraldi (S, 2/3) was able to strand the tying run in scoring position in the ninth with a pair of strikeouts.

The Nuts head home to open a four-game series with the Lake Elsinore Storm on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m.

West Michigan 3, Clinton (Low-A) 2

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. – A Clinton LumberKings early lead did not hold up in a 3-2 loss to the West Michigan Whitecaps on Wednesday night at Fifth Third Ballpark.

The LumberKings raced out of the gate to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Bryson Brigman singled with one out in the inning and moved to second base when he tagged up on a Anthony Jimenez flyout in foul territory down the line in right field. The aggressiveness paid off for Clinton, as Kristian Brito followed with an RBI single to center.

In the top of the seventh, the LumberKings pulled to within one run when Kristian Brito and Ryan Scott doubled. The double was the first hit of the year with the LumberKings for Scott and his first RBI as well.

The LumberKings will wrap up their three-game series with the Whitecaps on Thursday night. LHP Nick Wells (0-1, 5.79) will get the start for Clinton and face West Michigan’s RHP Alfred (2-1, 4.67).
