Starbuds Cannabis robber used stolen U-Haul truck as getaway vehicle

A man suspected of shooting a clerk and robbing Starbuds Cannabis on Tuesday evening was caught because police found the U-Haul truck he used to escape the scene.

James Jordan, 42, is currently in Spokane County Jail on a charge of first-degree robbery. He was arrested Thursday evening when an officer found a truck matching the vehicle spotted on surveillance video in the 1900 block of East Lincoln Road.

According to a police affidavit, Jordan stole the vehicle when he came across it on the street. He told police it was “still running.” The truck was a U-Haul with a “unique decal,” police said.

Jordan admitted to police the theft of the truck, the robbing of the marijuana store, and shooting a female worker in the arm, according to court documents. He also told police the location of the firearm used in the string of crimes.
