GSL girls: Central Valley uses balanced attack to rout Gonzaga Prep

Mady Simmelink led five players in double figures with 13 points – including three 3-pointers – and Central Valley (10-0, 6-0) routed visiting Gonzaga Prep (7-5, 3-3) 77-26 in a Greater Spokane League game on Friday.

Central Valley entered play rated fourth in state 4A in the latest WIAA RPI. The Bears raced out to a 26-4 lead after the first quarter and led 44-16 at intermission.

Lexie Hull and Hailey Christopher scored 12 points apiece, Lacie Hull had 11 and Camryn Scaife added 10.

Lewis and Clark 52, North Central 41: Jacinta Buckley scored 12 points and the visiting Tigers (7-5, 5-1) defeated the Indians (7-6, 2-2).

Dominique Arquette added 10 points for LC, including a pair of 3-pointers. The Tigers used a 14-6 third quarter run to pull away from the Indians.

Quincy McDeid and Kyara Sayers paced NC with 13 points apiece.

Mt. Spokane 57, Shadle Park 35: Emma Main hit four 3-pointers and finished with 20 points and the Wildcats (7-4, 4-1), ranked 12th in 3A, beat the visiting Highlanders (2-10, 1-3).

Averi Adams had 13 points with three 3-pointers and Emily Nelson added 12 for Mt. Spokane, which led 27-13 at intermission.

Jillian Groves made three 3-pointers and led Shadle Park with 12 points while Emilie Tangeman added 10.

University 72, Ferris 25: Claire Dingus scored 19 points and the visiting Titans (7-5, 4-2) defeated the Saxons (1-10, 0-6).

Ellie Boni scored 15 points and Jasey Ramelow added 14 – with four 3-pointers – for U-Hi, which led 21-6 after one quarter and 40-15 at the break.

Mayson Younger paced Ferris with 10 points.

Mead 60, Rogers 31: Jessa Smith scored 11 points, Victoria Veter added 10 and the Panthers (4-8, 2-5) raced out to a 22-8 lead after one quarter and defeated the visiting Pirates (1-11, 0-3).

McKenna Russell added nine points for the Panthers – all on 3-pointers.

Mead held Rogers to four points in the second quarter and held a 43-12 advantage at the break.

Akon Aleu and Shaelli Morrison led Rogers with 11 points apiece.
