Man arrested on suspicion of domestic violence murder

Spokane police arrested a 59-year-old man Saturday on suspicion of second-degree domestic violence murder.

William Walter Bost was booked into Spokane County Jail, police said, hours after authorities were led to a dead body at Bost’s 1032 S. Buena Vista Drive residence early Saturday.

During an unrelated traffic stop just after midnight Saturday, a Spokane Valley police officer was approached by a man who led officers to believe there was a dead body inside a house at the Buena Vista location.

Scanner traffic from around the time of the incident recorded a discussion between officers who said they were approached by an unidentified man.

Roughly 30 minutes later, the officers said the man had told them his wife was killed by his dog.

The officers then said they were planning to do a welfare check on the wife.

Police said no other details were available since the investigation was ongoing.

Bost has no criminal history in Spokane County, according to the Spokane County courts website.
