Post Falls native Timmy Mueller and Gonzaga University senior Ben White were chosen in the MLS SuperDraft on Sunday.

Mueller, an Oregon State senior who played forward for four years with the Beavers, was chosen in the third round by the Portland Timbers.

At OSU, he was the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in 2014, an All-Pac-12 first-team selection in 2015 and an All-Pac-12 second-team pick in 2016. He had 23 goals and 10 assists in 67 games.

Prior to joining Oregon State in Fall 2014, Mueller played the second half of the debut campaign of the Spokane Shadow Men’s First Team in the Evergreen Premier League, scoring three goals in helping lead the side to the league’s inaugural championship.

At Post Falls High School, he helped his team to the 2012 Idaho state 5A championship when he was the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year.

Mueller played with Spokane Shadow teams during his U14 and U15 seasons.

White, chosen by Toronto FC in the fourth round, becomes the fourth Gonzaga player in program history selected.

White, a four-time All-West Coast Conference selection, finished his GU career with nine goals and 10 assists.
