Gonzaga forward Johnathan Williams’ awards collection keeps on growing.

Williams on Friday was named Senior CLASS Award second-team All-American.

The team and award is voted on by Division I men’s basketball coaches, national basketball media and fans. CLASS is an acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School. The award, won by West Virginia’s Jevon Carter, focuses on a senior’s contributions on and off the court.

Williams volunteered at a number of community service events, including the N7/Coeur d’Alene Tribe basketball clinic, Spokane Boys and Girls Club, Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital, VA Medical Center and Camp Goodtimes. He has also made numerous visits to local elementary schools.

Williams led Gonzaga in scoring (13.4), rebounding (8.5) and blocks (40). He was named AP All-America honorable mention earlier this week. He’s also been a District IX and All-WCC selection.

Carter was joined on the first team by North Dakota State’s A.J. Jacobson, Western Kentucky’s Justin Johnson, Georgia’s Yante Maten and Navy’s Shawn Anderson.

Williams, Houston’s Rob Gray, Army’s Luke Morrison, Seton Hall’s Angel Delgado and TCU’s Vladimir Brodziansky were on the second team.

Gonzaga’s Przemek Karnowski was on the first team in 2017.
