Two people hospitalized after fire at 5th Ave. apartment building
A fire at an apartment building on Friday just before midnight drew a heavy response from fire crews and saw two tenants transported to the hospital.
At around 11:30 p.m., crews responded to a report of an apartment fire at 1203 W. 5th Ave., according to a Spokane Fire Department news release. Neighbors reported seeing flames licking from a third-floor window.
Firefighters initially focused on evacuating residents and checking the fire’s spread. It was eventually brought under control.
Two tenants were injured and transferred to a hospital. Their conditions are as of yet unknown, according to the release.
