On Oct. 25, comedian/actress/writer/producer Whitney Cummings posted the following on Facebook: “I’ll be running my new hour in Spokane soon. Also what do I need to know about Spokane? Where do I go obnoxiously take selfies while I’m there?”

Let’s start with Cummings’ new hour. These Spokane Comedy Club shows, Nov. 8-10, are helping Cummings finesse her first Netflix special, which is scheduled for filming in November.

The comedian has three specials already under her belt, most recently 2016’s “I’m Your Girlfriend” for HBO.

This new hour might include a story or two from her book “I’m Fine…And Other Lies,” which was released last October.

Or it could feature Cummings’ experience co-writing, directing and starring in the 2017 film “The Female Brain.”

But, in a September interview with the Las Vegas Sun, Cummings made clear something the hour won’t contain.

“I’m proud to say this is an hour with absolutely no politics in it,” she said. “No one is going to get triggered so you can feel safe coming to this show. It’s just so hard to escape right now, so I tell people if nothing else, you’ll get a rest from that for a while.”

As for Cummings’ last questions, she might get a few brownie points with local audiences if she pronounces it “Spo-can,” not “Spo-cane.” And while it might be difficult to fit “The Childhood Express,” aka the Radio Flyer in Riverfront Park, in a selfie, I’m sure the garbage eating goat wouldn’t mind being in a snap or two.
