Josh Perkins, who became Gonzaga’s all-time assists leader in Thursday night’s home win over Pepperdine, has been selected West Coast Conference player of the week.

Perkins had 31 points and 16 assists in blowout wins over Pepperdine and BYU. The senior point guard surpassed Matt Santangelo in career assists in the second half against the Waves.

Perkins added seven assists in Saturday night’s home victory over BYU, hiking his career total to 677, sixth in WCC history. He’s ninth nationally at 6.9 assists per game and seventh with a 3.37 assist-to-turnover ratio.

Perkins averages 10.8 points and a team-high 30.9 minutes per game.

Perkins also received conference player of the week honors in early December. GU players have been selected six times this season, led by Rui Hachimura’s three.
