North Carolina transfer Seventh Woods lists Gonzaga among his top three schools.

Woods told The State newspaper of Columbia, South Carolina, that he’s also considering South Carolina and Michigan.

Gonzaga has faced Woods twice as an opponent. The 6-foot-2 guard played just 3 minutes in UNC’s win over GU in the 2017 national championship game. Woods scored a career-high 14 points in the Tar Heels’ 103-90 win over the Zags last December. It was his only game in double figures in his 94 career games.

Woods, a native of Columbia, considered his hometown Gamecocks, Georgetown and North Carolina coming out of high school.

The State reported that Woods would have to sit out next season under NCAA transfer rules. He’s listed at No. 42 among ESPN’s top 50 sit-out transfers, with the notation, “If Woods is able to graduate, he will be far more sought-after.”

Woods never found a consistent role in his three seasons at UNC, starting one game and averaging just 8.7 minutes.
