Spokane scholar awards moving forward

From local reports

Two dozen seniors from area high schools will be named Spokane Scholars by the Spokane Scholars Foundation on April 30. They are competing among 156 students who were nominated by their schools for the annual academic scholarships.

Four students in each of the six academic subject categories will receive awards ranging from $1,000 to $4,000. The subjects are English, fine arts, mathematics, science, social studies and world languages.

The students are judged by a panel of three that considers grade-point average and course study, national aptitude and achievement test scores, original research or related activities, and letters of recommendation.

For complete results, visit spokanescholars.org or its Facebook page.
