Brandi Swindell told the Senate State Affairs Committee, "Numerous clients have changed their mind after receiving ultrasound at our clinic. ... They didn't know that their baby had a heartbeat. ... They thought it was merely a blob of cells. ... They were not given all the facts at the time of their abortion. ... They say I never would have had an abortion if I had known all the facts."

When Swindell began describing a future event in which she said her organization is planning to conduct a live ultrasound in the state Capitol - after she'd already been advised that her 3 minutes were up - many in the crowd began coughing loudly. Chairman Curt McKenzie banged his gavel and admonished the crowd to respect all those who testify.

Sen. Michelle Stennett, D-Ketchum, asked Swindell whether the ultrasound to be performed in the capitol could be abdominal or transvaginal. Swindell said, "Typically we do abdominal," but the other procedure is used as well, "if it's necessary to do a vaginal probe." Stennett said, "You may want to find out if that's allowable within the capitol building."

Swindell said, "Knowledge is power, that's what i believe as a woman."
