Highlights from the weekend

BLOOMSDAY: Beautiful day for Bloomies: It was a routine Bloomsday though, editors said - and nothing disastrous. For more Bloomsday coverage, click here.

HERO: Cheney native killed in Iraq on third tour

HAGAHOUSE: Duane Hagadone building lavish home, elevated on stone pillars with a creek flowing by. As for the fact that they're building it, S-R blogmaster Dave F. Oliveria asks, "Why?" Here, tell Dave.

BIKE DOCTOR: Only the very best physicians look over their patients as thoroughly as Dave Mannino checks out a bicycle that comes into Two Wheel Transit for a tune-up. Read the Sunday story.

THE DOUG: Doug Clark: Spokane Shaver falls victim to the times

Multimedia roundup

SLIDESHOW: This series of photos accompanies the breaking news story "Arson suspected in pizza parlor fire." Photographer Christopher Anderson is taking his newsdog with him today on photo appointments. Because photographers are out and about, going from one event or appointment to another, he can have his dear furry with him and she waits in the car.

• To accompany Saturday's story in the features section about sculptor Bill Sanders, here's the video by Colin Mulvany.
