Jorel: Duane Still Wants Garden for Resort Campus

Jorel: Duane is getting a little more than long in the tooth, he's becoming delusional. His ill-fated garden project would in his mind complete what he sees as the Hagadone business campus.(read large outdoor restaurant seating in front of Bonsai)An overwhelming majority don't want their streets blocked off to pacify Duane. There are two issues here:1)EVERYONE will lose the views of the lake and park driving west on Sherman and into downtown on N'west Blvd (which are priceless and irreplaceable)and 2)Safety issues abound by blocking quick access to downtown and the water front in case of emergencies.(to say nothing about the rerouting of traffic)Duane also wants to close Front from 3rd west to 2nd and Sherman so his hotel guests can walk across the street to the plaza shops. (they should walk up to 2nd and Sherman like most citizens or use the skywalk from the hotel to the plaza)the street will of course be open for deliveries to the hotel and plaza shops and for all of the hotel vehicles.Build the garden over on Blackwell Island Duane..the addiition 10,000 annual camera clickers you envision will still find their way downtown! What arrogance.

Question: Does Hagadone have any chance of getting his garden placed on public right of way, such as Sherman Avenue or McEuen Field?
