LastDemoInIdaho: The pics are great, very dramatic, but has ANYONE in CDA or Hayden actually measured the snow with an accurate ruler or tape, in a place that is now drifted or piled up by shoveling?? Being away from home, I want to know how much might be on my roof...not a guess, please.

DFO: How can you call yourself LastDemoInIdaho when you're suffering the wild weather swings in southern California this winter -- from sunny to smoggy? I haven't heard about any roof collapses, other than a coupla businesses. My roof in Coeur d'Alene has about 15 to 18 inches of snow. Everyone sez you start shoveling at 36 inches. Not much snow yesterday. Light snow this morning that's suppose to taper off by 10. It has been warm enough that some of the snow is melting underneath. I told the guy next door who helped build my house 22 years ago that I'd start shoveling my roof when I saw him shoveling his. So far, I'd guess you can relax.
