Is School District Hiding Something?

A Berry Picker provides evidence that the Coeur d'Alene School District may be trying to rush this teacher "collaborative" idea through the process. The Berry Picker e-mails: "The Press article stated that the District will be voting on this new schedule next Monday.  School District 271 sent home the attached news release, dated April 19, 2010.  You will see that it does not provide any information regarding a vote at the Trustee meeting -- which would allow for public comment.  In fact, the memo just announces that this "will be" the schedule.  Additionally, the school district website does not have a copy of this news release in the news release section, which apparently is only as up to date as those release in 2009. Many patrons are upset that there never appeared to be the opportunity to offer input.  Yet, the Press states that this isn't a done deal yet.  What happened to that promised transparency?" Question: Should this proposal be given a well-publicized public hearing?
