Richert: Minnick Ad Goes Too Far

Rep. Walt Minnick is stretching Raul Labrador’s words. But Labrador shouldn’t be surprised that his immigration law practice is coming under harsh scrutiny. Minnick turned up the heat and hit the airwaves Thursday with the toughest TV ad of the fall election season. The 1st Congressional District Democrat’s 30-second ad gets right to the point. Here’s the first sentence: “Illegal immigration’s good business for Raul Labrador”/Kevin Richert, Idaho Statesman. More here.

Question: Opinion Editor Kevin Richert on his Idaho Statesman blog says that Minnick went "aggressively negative" with this ad -- and perhaps too far. What do you think?
