Winton’s Lenz Is ‘12 Top Idaho Teacher
Erin Lenz, a teacher at Winton Elementary School in Coeur d'Alene, was named the 2012 Idaho Teacher of the Year, the Idaho State Department of Education announced Thursday. Lenz has been a teacher for 10 years. She will receive an award of $1,000, $16,000 in technology from the SMARTer Kids Foundation, and a trip to Washington D.C., to represent Idaho in the national competition. "By focusing on every student, analyzing assessment data, and getting parents more involved, Lenz has consistently raised student achievement in her classroom and school," Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Luna said in a news release/Katy Moeller, Idaho Statesman.
