Poll: Andrus Best Guv Of Last 25 Years

  • Weekend Poll: Overwhelmingly, Hucks Nation picked former Democratic governor Cecil Andrus as the best governor of the last 25 years. 165 of 250 respondents (66%) picked Andrus as best from among the six men who have served as governors since 1986. Republican Phil Batt finished a distant second in the tally with 32 votes of 250 (12.8%). Current Gov. Butch Otter finished fifth of six, with only 13 votes (5.2%). Otter bested only John Evans, whose 10-year tenure ended Jan. 4, 1987. Evans received 6 votes (2.4%). Jim Risch & Dirk Kempthorne were tied for third with 17 votes apiece (6.8%).
