High Noon: Speaking To Your Fear

Trying to conquer your fear of public speaking? Take a cue from Nampa High School senior Maddie Hall, who went from being terrified of talking in front of people to receiving second place at the 2011 State Speech Tournament in the category of panel discussion. Her secret? “I get so nervous right before a round and then I realize there’s only one person in there that judges me and I picture them in their underwear, and they have to have a tutu on,” confided Hall, who is currently Speech Captain on the Nampa High School Speech and Debate Team/Sharon Strauss, Idaho Press Tribune. Question: Are you afraid of speaking in public?
