School District To Get New Home

District Office will be demolished March 2013. The property at 4th & Linden is not feasible to build a “utilitarian” building for a multitude of reasons outlined by Mr. Wardell. The district reviewed several area vacant buildings. The building suggested is 1400 North Wood Center Court. at about 21,000 sq ft. (About 3,000 sq.ft less than needed.). It’s a 10 year old steel span construction that would facilitate moving walls if necessary.

  • 1 all displaced staff moves in.
  • 2 centrally located for travel efficiency
  • 3 construction is quality
  • 4 it’s healthy
  • 5. It can be occupied roughly in Feb.

It will be a 9 month lease plus an option price of 2.2 million. This is the Tomlinson building near Outback Steakhouse. Motion carries -- Christa Hazel. (Also: School District gets new home/Press)
